New Answers to High Cholesterol
Suppose you are climbing in the High Sierra when you suddenly find yourself at the edge of a fog-shrouded clif
Best answer:
Well, you are getting a terrible introduction as this is a very badly designed problem.

The speed of sound is not constant, but depends on such factors as temperature, pressure, density, etc.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Speed_of_sound

These factors do vary with altitude, so the speed of sound also varies with altitude. But, you are not told the temperature, either where you are or at the base of the mountain, the weather, etc. so you can't give a real answer.

But, if you pretend that the temperature at sea level is 20 degrees C and you use the standard tables for decreasing temperature and pressure with height, etc. then you can answer the question, even if you can't really tell your altitude.
